“Reports on US arms purchases provided by SOCOM show that it paid at least 27 million dollars for Bulgarian weapons and 12 million dollars for Serbian weapons and ammunition in a period from 2014 to 2016 that were supposed to be used for covert operations in Syria. Since December 2015, SOCOM commissioned three cargo ships to transport 4,700 tonnes of weapons and ammunition from the port of Constanta in Romania and Burgas in Bulgaria to the Middle East.” More here…

“And so, with the likes of WaPo having already primed the general public to equate ‘Russian Propaganda’ with ‘fake news’ (despite admitting after the fact their own report was essentially ‘fake’), while the US media has indoctrinated the public to assume that any information which is not in compliance with the official government narrative, or dares to criticize the establishment, is also ‘fake news’ and thus falls under the ‘Russian propaganda’ umbrella, the scene is now set for the US government to legally crack down on every media outlet that the government deems to be ‘foreign propaganda.’ ” More here…

Frank Sinatra, Sr. recorded his last Christmas song twenty-five years ago, in August 1991, at the age of 75.
The song was ‘Silent Night.’
Mr. “S” hadn’t been in a recording studio for over three years according to liner notes to “The Christmas Collection,” a Sinatra family collaboration released in 2004.
Released in November, the 1991 ‘Silent Night’ was Sinatra Senior’s first released recording since 1984 – ‘L.A. Is My Lady.’
This offering was one of some two dozen selections on “The Christmas Album, a Gift of Hope.” Proceeds from sales went to benefit children’s hospitals nationwide. The Children’s Hospital Foundation based in San Diego, California issued the recording.
Frank’s son, Frank Sinatra, Jr. accompanied his dad on piano.
This father-son version is moving. It is an emotional outpouring. Daughter Nancy recalls: “It was an emotional day [in August 1991] because he was doing it for the children…He was not feeling good that day, and it was difficult for him to record. I hear the weakness and the frailty in his voice, and it so so sweet and tender that is is just heart-wrenching.”
Frank Sinatra, Sr. passed away on 14 May 1998 at the age of 82
Mr. Sid Mark, host of the local Sunday with Sinatra airing on 1210 AM WPHT out of Philadelphia and nationally syndicated Sounds of Sinatra, Sid Mark – the radio voice of Frank Sinatra – regularly introduces the 1991 father-son performance describing it “as fragile as porcelain.”
Listen for yourself:
Thirteen years after Mr. Sinatra and son recorded ‘Silent Night’ for children’s hospital group, record producer Charles Pignone “had the inspired notion to supplement Frank’s voice with a full orchestra.”
Here’s the result (Frank Sinatra, Jr. conducting – Bill Miller on piano):
Frank Sinatra, Jr. left us this year on 16 March. He was 72 years old.
