Army Master Sergeant Hatley was six-months short of a twenty-year retirement when stood before an Attanider Court-martial! Another OBAMA outrage and act of Treason!

Sergeant of Marines and JAG HUNTER Timothy Joseph Harrington sends this in:

“John Hatley was a highly decorated combat veteran of nineteen years and six months military service. He was deployed in Bosnia, Kosovo, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Operation Desert Storm.

“Many officers in the military’s upper echelons remain willfully ignorant of Islamic doctrine and oblivious to its dynamics in the war.  They write the crippling ROE and the Catch-and-Release policies that have caused the deaths of innumerable American soldiers and Marines — and they sit comfortably behind their desks at the Pentagon.  In the meantime, men like John Hatley sit in prison.”

All good points in defense of Hatley, but blaming Obama is just ignorant. The investigations began before his inauguration and Hatley was interrogated Jan 18, hardly any time for Obama to step in and manipulate things. And what about the trials for Abu Ghraib trials, Operation Iron Triangle and more?? These were under Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, the so-called defenders of the military, yet they were all hung out to dry.

What’s more of an outrage is the military’s habit of abandoning its own and calling them “a few bad apples” when BS policies like the ROE and a systematically dysfunctional system continue to crank out scenarios where soldiers cross the line because they don’t know where it is or are too distraught and frustrated to make a clear decision. Read the Levin McCain Report, it places much more blame on the upper level decisions and details an overall system of policies and misinformation that makes tragedies like what happened with Hatley inevitabilities. How can we honor and respect our troops when the system abandons them at the very moments it should be self-reflective and take responsibility for setting them up to fail.
